incense stick

Xian Xiang refers to a linear fragrance product made with different formulas, with certain regulations on thickness and quality. After the Ming Dynasty, string incense became one of the commonly used forms of incense. Due to its convenient use, it was suitable for various occasions such as home use, incense burning, and religious places.

In ancient times, incense was made by hand rubbing or using the mouth of crucian carp, but now it is mostly made using specialized machinery.

Sign incense

Signature fragrance, also known as stick fragrance or core fragrance. It is made of materials such as bamboo and wood as the fragrance core, and the fragrance medicine is attached to the outside of the fragrance core in a straight line shape. Those who use bamboo sticks as the core are often called "bamboo stick fragrance" or "bamboo stick fragrance". There are also hand held incense, pouring incense, and machine-made incense for signing incense.

Due to the fact that incense sticks do not deform due to moisture, they are commonly used by people in the humid and rainy southern regions. However, due to the fact that the bamboo sticks in the middle of the incense sticks can affect the quality of the incense, bamboo stick incense is not suitable for use as incense.

Yin Xiang

Seal fragrance, also known as seal fragrance. It is a form of fragrance made by using a mold called "fragrance seal" (also known as a fragrance seal mold or seal mold) to frame and imprint fragrance powder. The lines of fragrant powder wrap around, like a continuous pattern or text (seal script), which can be burned out in sequence after being ignited.

Yin Xiang was already popular during the Tang and Song dynasties and has been one of the main forms of fragrance since then. Moreover, due to its ease of handmade production and infinite creative space, Xiangzhuan has been highly favored by literati throughout history. In history, there are records of Su Dongpo, Huang Tingjian, and others personally making fragrant seal script. The current principle of pan incense is derived from seal incense.
